GPS-based Geofencing Technology
A GPS-based geofence is used to create a virtual geographic boundary. This enables our Appadia platform to trigger a push notification when the app user enters or leaves a specific area.
This technology makes sending relevant, timely, and personalized notifications possible. It’s also possible to remind customers about your business when they enter your competitor’s location.
How It Works
GPS receivers collect information from a satellite and use cell tower triangulation to pinpoint the app user’s exact location. There are no limits to the size of a geofence, but it is recommended to keep a 10m – 200km radius. Geofencing relies on Wi-Fi and/or cellular data to remain active in the background with location services active.
